points—100,
1000, 5000, depending on age—to earn a 15-minute block of time playing
computer games.
Download
the executable, and double-click to begin. Turn
on NumLock,
and use the numeric keypad
and Enter to type in an answer. Select Addition, Subtraction,
Multiplication or Division, and move the slider bar to select the upper
limit of problem numbers: between 1 and 20.
The score is
based on the level of difficulty of the function (with division
yielding the most points) and the size of the numbers in the problem.
So you get some of the highest points for solving “171/19” and the
least for “1+0.”
The Diagnostics tab shows all the problems posed,
and in the
case of
incorrect answers, the value that was entered.
